A good friend of mine passed away from Ovarian Cancer in November last year. Martine was a keen runner and a beautiful human and friend. She had an awesomely dry sense of humour even in the face of all the treatment she had.

We have lots of amazing memories, with lots of friends and it still doesn't seem real that she's not here. Anyway, I signed up to do the Great South Run, a mere 10 miles on the 20th October this year.

I'm at a point now where I believe I can complete the course and raise some money for Ovacome the national UK charity focused on providing support and information to anyone affected by this disease.

Ovacome receives no government funding and relies on its donors and fundraisers to make its life-changing work possible. Any amount you feel able to give could have a huge impact on the experience of someone facing a diagnosis.

It would mean a lot to me if you could support me.

All my love,
Claire. Claire Cook
